Poipu Makai A-3 is a privately owned condo that is professionally managed by a local company. It is perfectly furnished for island visitors and you may find yourself not wanting to leave.
Almost every room in this condo offers whitewater views. The master bedroom is directly on the ocean and has views of the water, the waves, and the sunset. The ocean is so close it almost seems like you are on a ship at sea.
The second bedroom has a garden view and is very private. Ocean sounds are also present in this room. The condo offers an abundance of closet and drawer space for visitors.
The third bedroom takes up the entire second floor and has two bunk beds, plus a sitting area with more views of the ocean. The couch upstairs is also a sleeper couch in the event that more bed space is needed.
The sitting area upstairs has a second TV with cable, a DVD player, and a videogame console with games. There is also a TV downstairs, with a BluRay DVD player, and a stereo with CD and iPod connectivity.
The kitchen is equipped for any and all cooking duties. Full complement of dishes, silverware, pots and pans, and even baking equipment. Coffee maker, dishwasher, rice maker, full-sized stove and oven.
For larger groups, there is seating at the breakfast bar. The dining table is also able to expand.
There are two full baths, both include tub and shower. All linens including beach towels are included in the rental cost. A full-sized washer and drier are in the condo and can be used at no added cost. Snorkel gear, a beach cooler, beach chairs, and an umbrella are all in the condo for your use.
The lanai is actually a double-wide lanai -- one section fronts the living room and the other section fronts the master bedroom.
On the property there is also a small pool with lounge chairs and a great gas BBQ that you are free to use. The pool is best considered a "plunge pool" as it is too small for swimming laps.
Unlike the mega-resorts, Poipu Makai offers parking within fifty feet of the unit. This unit, A-3, has only eleven stairsteps to get to the front door. The raised parking lot makes access to this upper unit convenient.
